Eating: Homemade vanilla ice cream ( or I WILL be)
Okay, so I haven't written a journal entry in a while, and I decided to delete all my old ones because they were piling up.
I have weird mixed feelings for summer; I love being lazy and doing nothing all day, but I have a deep passionate hatred for heat. It's a little ironic that any day over ninety degrees makes me want to roll over and die, because I was born on the first day of summer.
Anyway, I'm doing that thing where you look up a song you like an iTunes then listen to all the songs recommended based on that song. Apparently, it's working, because I now have two new favorite bands (Gayngs and Theophilus London). But right now, but all time favorite is Woodkid, even they only have six songs. The main singer has this smooth, glossy way of singing that I really love.
I'm also really excited for tonight, because I get to have some homemade vanilla ice cream my mom made using a Ben and Jerry's recipe book. Next week we're making Georgia Peach ice cream, which is going to be amazing.
Also, I am reading one of the best books ever. It's called "Revolution" by Jennifer Donnelley, and it is such an amazing read. It's about a girl from Brooklyn named Andi, who's younger brother Truman died when he was about ten or eleven.
She is a really amazing guitar player, and really smart. But she blames herself for him dying, and her dad divorcing her mom afterwards. When she almost flunks out of school, her dad, who is also a world famous expert in DNA, takes (well, drags) her to Paris with him for winter break.
She finds this diary in a hidden compartment she inadvertently opened in old guitar case. The diary was written by a girl who lived during the French Revolution named Alexandrine, and when she was a little younger then Andi, she became the companion and friend to a boy named Louis Charles. Did I mention he's Marie Antoinette's son? It is such a good book, and you just have to read it!

You're the most difficult, stubborn, obnoxious, mysoginistic and reckless human being I've ever met. And yet still you make me feel safe. - DI Alex Drake, Ashes to Ashes
